UPDATE: DUE TO COVID WE HAVE DECIDED TO CANCEL OUR WEDDING

We Apologize For The Inconvenience

Dear Guests, It is with a heavy heart that we notify you of our very difficult decision. We have decided to cancel our formal wedding celebration, which was to take place on July 24, 2021 @ Navesink Country Club. This decision was made with the health and safety of our guests in mind and the restrictions the venue will have come July. We hope this hasn't caused too much of an inconvenience and appreciate all your love and support during this time. All our love, The Newlyweds - Shannon & Blair Potter, Jr.

How Our Love Story Began

Through The Groom's Eyes

It all started back in high school, I was a few grades older than Shannon and she was one of the prettiest girls in school. I like to think that she knew who I was (she claims she did) but heck she didn’t even know I was captain of hockey and lacrosse teams. Fast forward to my summer going into senior year of college where I received a message from Shannon. I thought it was a mistake, why in the world would this gorgeous girl be trying to talk to me? At first, I thought it must be because I cut my hair and she mistook me for some other guy. Now that I look back at it, when Shannon wants something, she will try her best to get it. After that summer we both headed back to college and kept in touch from time to time, with Shannon sending me bracelets and notes to remind me that she was still there. My luck didn’t run out after that when Shannon decided she was moving back to Rumson and I would be home after graduating college. There is such a thing as summer love and we proved it the summer of 2014 when we decided to become exclusive at my graduation party. The adventures took off after that from Ireland, London, to skiing in Vermont, the sky was the limit. 6yrs later after living in New York City together and deciding we wanted to move back, I proposed to the love of my life in Hartshorne Woods on my birthday, March 9th. Now most people say I did that because then I could never forget the day I proposed to her. That might be a benefit but there is a long story for another day for why I picked that amazing day. Now I get to say I am the luckiest guy to get to marry Shannon, a person with the biggest heart and she wears it on her sleeve. I get to be surrounded by two amazing families and by our best friends. Hard to say life can’t get much better than this, but then I dream of the next 75 years or so I have with Shannon by my side.
