August 10, 2017 they met at San Francisco General Hospital. Aira was on her last day of internship for SFSU and Jordan was on his second day of volunteering. Although stationed at two different volunteer desks initially, a chance encounter with a homeless person causing trouble at Jordan's volunteer desk caused him to go to the other building's volunteer desk for advice. Coffee in hand still half asleep, Jordan goes up to the other building's volunteer desk and says "Hey uhh, there's a crazy lady at the volunteer desk with her shoes off and visitors are asking her for directions. Should we do something?" They responded by calling security. Aira then says, "I'll go back and hang out at your desk with you for the shift." They've been inseparable ever since.
