Our journey from when we met has spanned multiple countries, different time zones, and many years but it all began in Minnesota. We both attended high school in Minnesota (only 45 minutes away from each other). Fun fact: Quinne's math teacher at Minnetonka HS had previously taught at Moundsview HS and had Tim as a student as well!
We both were part of the University of Minnesota’s Army ROTC program. Through studies, training for the Army 10 Miler, and field training exercises, we grew inseparable and started dating our sophomore year of college. We enjoyed hiking and camping Up North, game nights with friends, and dates at Punch pizza. We will forever be thankful for John Pease who gave Tim the gentle nudge to finally ask Quinne to be his girlfriend 7 years ago.
When it came time to graduate, we both elected to serve Active duty. Quinne was selected by the Army to pursue her doctorate in Occupational Therapy in Pittsburgh, PA, while Tim served as a medical treatment platoon leader in Daegu, South Korea. Despite the distance and 12 hour time difference, we spent evenings and mornings talking throughout the time apart, watching movies, and Tim turning Quinne into a gamer through, their now favorite game, Stardew Valley. When Tim returned from Korea and Quinne finished grad school, we knew we didn't want to be apart any longer.... So the decision was made!
We eloped in June 2024 and were married on an ocean cliff in Acadia National Park, Maine. We spent an amazing 10 days together exploring and going on adventures in Bar Harbor and Acadia. Highlights were camping, kayaking, hiking (the Beehive, Mount Cadillac, and the Jordan Pond Bubbles), and a charter fishing trip where Quinne decided she does not enjoy sashimi. We loved everything about Maine but were most thankful for being able to spend time with each other after a long few years apart. One day we hope to return and enjoy more romantic lobster roll dinners while watching the sunset.
Now we are both stationed at Fort Polk and live in scenic Leesville, Louisiana. In a "meant to be" kinda way, Goose decided to join our lives just one day after Quinne's arrival. We enjoyed living the bayou life together as a family of 3 for about 6 months before Tim was notified he'd be deployed. No strangers to long distance, Tim is currently deployed serving with a field hospital in Iraq while Quinne is working at the Army hospital in Louisiana. We are counting the days until Tim's return.
Hopefully (fingers crossed) we will be able to live together for more than a couple of months at a time once Tim returns. We look forward to seeing you all in August 2026 <3 and then hopefully being stationed somewhere a little less hot and that has a few less cockroaches in early summer 2027.
