Heidi was the cute girl in the grade above me at Lorena High School with "majestic legs" and that's about all I knew about her for a while. We never really spent time together until one random Friday where I somehow lucked into Heidi giving me a ride in her Mini Cooper to the baseball game. We had the normal small talk and she played her new favorite song "Dangerous Woman" by Ariana Grande. The story gets good when after the baseball game all of our friends went to Baylor's campus to play Ultimate Frisbee in a field between some of the dorms. I knew Heidi was athletic so it wasn't a surprise to see her making plays everywhere, but now it was time for me to show off my athletic ability. Someone threw the disc way down the field and I took off for it, going full speed. Right as I was about to reach out and grab the disc, I ran straight into a light pole head-on. I bounced off, and landed flat on my back, opening my eyes to everyone around me. Once we all knew I was ok, we couldn't stop laughing. I then realized I wasn't going to "pull" Heidi with my athletic ability. I was going to have to try to impress this dangerous woman some other way. A few months later, we went back to that same field on our first date, so I must've done something right!
What was supposed to be family pictures for Riley's grandparents, was actually my favorite day thus far! As we made our way to The Gardens on A&M's campus, we had to stop at the gas station so Riley could run in and grab a Twisted Tea... I mean how else were we supposed to get through pictures or, little did I know, calm his nerves? Once we arrived at the vineyard, Riley popped down on one knee energetically; however, a little too energetically and bonked my head on the way down. I'd been waiting for this day since, basically, the day we met and the only words I could scream/cry out of my mouth were "Seriously?!?!". He was serious. So serious that he repeatedly tried putting the ring on my middle finger. Once we got that sorted out, the celebration began! It was a beautiful day surrounded by our closest friends and family and we can't wait to do it all again on August 20th with you!
