HOW WE MET

In 2012, the summer between junior and senior year of high school, we were set up on a blind date with a group of friends. When we met in person, the first words Derek said were, “Hey, we have the same birthday.” It was unexpected, and it made me laugh. And we've been making each other laugh ever since.


FUN FACTS ABOUT US

We were long-distance two separate times in our relationship. 

We have been to 21 countries together (so far…). 

Rebecca is the Marketing Director for an interior design firm in Scottsdale, and Derek is a travel videographer & video editor for his company, Higher Footage. 

We are known as the "dog people." In 2018, we got our first 120lb fluffy monster together, our sweet, very missed Alby Boy. Then a few years later, we got our second fluffy monster, Miss Sophie. They had 9 adorable puppies together in 2020 (so I guess that makes us grandparents). 

Our wedding day was on our 11th Year Anniversary.

And yes... we, in fact, have the same birthday.
