How We Met

May 27, 2017

Story told by Ashley Davis: We met on Memorial Day, May 27, 2017. I was at the gas station with my home girl and Jerome walked in. We spoke and he said that he was having a cookout, if me and my friend didn't have anything to do. It was random, but he was actually a real gentleman. He wasn't ratchet or disrespectful. He said it was right around the corner. So me and my friend decided to go just to have something to do that day and we never left each other side since.

She Was The One

I knew Ashley was the one because she made me into a better man. Ashley motivates me to do better and I only want to make her happy. I am always happy around her and then she brought her daughter into my life and Tyley became my daughter instantly and I fell in love with her as well. When I see myself in the future I see Ashley right there. I can't see myself without her. Through the ups and downs I wouldn't want anyone else in my corner but her.

He Was The One

I realized Jerome was the one after he made me mad and I couldn't stop thinking about him. When I realized his maturity to deal with me. When I noticed I cared about his future. When I realized he was basically everything I was looking for in other people and didn't have to ask for it. When I realized he loved my daughter as his own and she loved him back. Jerome showed me his true colors and I noticed I can deal with him forever.

Proposal

September 3, 2018

Story by Jerome Peters: I proposed to her at the lookout point over at Druid Hill Park. We were standing on top of the median strip and Ashley started reciting poems off the top of her head and then I followed suit.... but at the end of my poem I said "in this life it's hard to be yourself or who you strive to be but with a woman like you in my corner it's not hard for me, Ashley I love you unconditionally, that's why I wanna ask the question... Will You Marry Me?" She thought I was playing at first and she asked me if I was still saying my poem...so I got down on one knee and I asked her again and she started crying, she hugged me and said "Yes."
