I first saw Mason on Bumble, where I immediately swiped right. Not only was he cute but he seemed driven and kind. We matched and started texting back and forth over the app. Finally I gave him my number and invited him to hang out, praying that he wasn't a serial killer. At first glance I thought "Damn this guy is REALLY handsome!', even though he looked slightly different than his pictures (he had BRIGHT BLUE HAIR). After our first hangout we were pretty much inseparable. I felt like for the first time a guy understood and cared about me for who I am as a person. Mason instantly became my best friend and we've been bumbling through Austin hand in hand ever since.
The night before Mason had asked me, very casually, if I'd like to go for a hike the next morning before going to the gym. Not really paying attention I said yes and went to bed. Well 6 A.M. came around and we were off to hike up Mount Bonnell. All morning he has been acting weird, asking me if I was going to bring my phone (which was dead), telling me that he didn't sleep well and that he had a lot on his mind. We finally arrive at Mount Bonnell and start the long walk up. As we reach the top I'm trying to catch my breath while Mason is as happy as a clam. He suggests we should climb on this rock to watch the sunrise. I object because there would be no place on this rock to put my coffee. After a minute I finally join him on the rock and he starts telling me how much he loves me and how he wants to be with me forever. As I turn around to look at him I find him on one knee holding a red box with the most beautiful ring. That was the most perfect sunrise I've ever seen, but nothing could compare to the question I had been asked. In a swarm of hugs and kisses I said yes. Yes to being with the greatest love of my life Mason Perkins.
