We met at a Super Bowl party, despite neither of us much caring for the Super Bowl itself... and were each there seeing or having noticed someone else… Before long, we got into a rather controversial and sarcastic conversation that warded off every other eligible person at the party. After a few hours of conversation, Paul asked for Heather‘s phone number. Having been jaded from Los Angeles men who were not willing to drive across the freeway 15 mins, she said "No, it’s highly unlikely we will ever see each other again because I live two hours away." Paul, unbeknownst to Heather, appreciated that response, and said "I’d like to make that choice for myself." Heather’s response? "Fine, here’s my number, but don’t text me, “want to hang out some time?” You can call me and asked me on a real date or don’t bother.” Heather also didn't know, Paul hates texting, so that was a win-win! And he did call her, the very next day. A week later, we had our first date and the rest is (a very long!) history!

While traveling to the UK for holidays, we planned a trip to Paris, France. A place both of us had been wanting to go for years! Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, all travel between UK and France was restricted. Plans were changed and, roadtrips being one of our love languages, we embarked on the North Coast 500 Scottish highlands trip! We found our way up to Thurso, Scotland, and stayed in an amazing stone cottage right on a cliffside. After provisioning with wine, wine and more wine, and a sneaky bottle of champagne! We cozied in for the evening with card games and movies. Having a lovely time, Paul shared some lovely reminiscence of the trip and then popped the question! It was a beautiful and memorable moment for us and our little Scottish cottage will forever have a special place in our hearts!
