Fall weekends in Ames are really special and is exactly where our story starts! On September 3, 2022, Iowa State had a home football game against Southeast Missouri (42-10 W). It was no surprise that I was there for the season opening game, but little did I know I'd be meeting my future wife that night. After the game, I was dropping off a few friends at the Blue Owl bar before making the trek home. With a little peer pressure from my friends, I decided to go into the Blue Owl bar for a drink, and I am so glad I did. I was with my friend Trey and his girlfriend at the time, now wife, Grace, when a girl who was with our group caught my eye. I had never met her before and was eventually introduced to this girl as Grace's roommate, Emily. Emily and I were inseparable that night, we talked for hours and never left each other's side. After the weekend, Emily went back to Minneapolis and I went back to Council Bluffs. The next two years consisted of a lot of facetime calls, texts, and visits between Minneapolis and Council Bluffs. During a fall date night in the tractor, Emily told me she accepted a job offer in Council Bluffs and made the move! Over Memorial Day Weekend in 2025, we took a trip to Zion National Park. After three different attempts to propose during the trip, I was finally able to get down on one knee during our last hike of the trip. Emily and I now live in my grandparents farmhouse in Council Bluffs with our puppy and our two barn cats - life couldn't be better. We cannot wait to continue building our life together and we are so excited to celebrate our marriage with all of you!
