In the beginning of 2020, we decided to start a new adventure of completing "Alphabet Dates" throughout the year, where we would go on dates in the order of the letters in the alphabet. Well as planned, our "E" date fell on the weekend of February 22, 2020. On that day, we planned for our "E" date to be "exploring" at Belmont Lake State Park; a cute park close to our home. Well I had no idea that “E” would stand for “engagement” instead of “exploring.” The morning of our engagement was like any other day, I went to work out at Orange Theory, we ate breakfast and got ready to start our day. As we were getting ready to leave to go to the park, I noticed Billy was acting a little anxious. Normally I'm the one who makes sure we're on time, but I felt rushed that day and was a little suspicious, but didn't think too much of it. When we arrived at the park, we started "exploring" and walking around. Everything felt like any other day, enjoying each other's company. When we finished walking around the lake, I said to Billy, "why don't we sit on a bench for a bit", but he insisted we couldn't sit on a bench and needed to keep walking. I was confused but kept walking anyways. As we were walking, Billy started to ask me what else our "E" date could have stood for, and we talked about other possible "E" dates. As we continued walking, I noticed a man in the distance abruptly get up from a bench holding a camera. It wasn't much time after that when Billy was saying he thought our "E" date should be engagement and he was down on one knee asking me to marry him!! The man in the distance was there to catch the perfect proposal for us! Billy continued our perfect day by having our families surprise me at dinner. Our families met us at Locale Restaurant in Patchogue, the same restaurant where our second date was. It was the most perfect proposal with the most perfect guy! We're beyond blessed and excited to marry each other!!
