If you know Alex in the slightest, she loves all things art! The DIA has one of the largest and most significant art collections in the United States. With over 100 galleries, it covers 658,000 square feet! This is a wonderous place, make sure you check out all their Van Gogh pieces if you can!

For our foodies and boozies, this is a must stop!! The Detroit Shipping Company is a restaurant collective featuring five premium food-truck style eateries, two bars, a podcast studio, an art gallery, and a live stage - all housed in one unique space made up of shipping containers!
Arab American National Museum
The Arab American National Museum (AANM), about 8 miles from Downtown Detroit, is the first and only museum of its kind in the United States devoted to recording the Arab American experience. Since opening in 2005, the AANM’s mission has been to document, preserve and present the history, culture and contributions of Arab Americans. If you love the museum and are ready for another, check out the Museum of African-American History. The Museum of African-American History tells the story of blacks within the city of Detroit and the state of Michigan.
Eastern Market Brewing Co
If you know Sam well, you know that beer is always the key to his heart! The Eastern Market Brewing Co is an easygoing brewery serving housemade craft beer in industrial surrounds with plenty of games and frequent live music. Ladies, after your man has had a couple drinks drag him out to the Eastern Market Sheds & start spending his money!! Kidding, but if you have the time stop at any or all of the Sheds, Alex and her family spent many Saturday mornings running around the Eastern Market buying flowers, snacks, & knick-knacks!
Belle Isle Island
Want to get out & about in nature? Situated in the Detroit River, Belle Isle is a relatively small island measuring about 3 miles in length and only a mile wide, there is however plenty to keep visitors to the island entertained. The parkland on the island is stunning and is a great pace for hikers to enjoy a long walk. The island hosts many facilities including: Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory, Belle Isle Aquarium, Dossin Great Lake Museum, and the Belle Isle Nature Center!
Lafayette Coney Island
Coney Dogs are absolutely iconic in Detroit! One of Alex's favorite months is July because most Coney Island's had .99 cent coneys for the whole month! What better way to get a real taste of Detroit than to eat at the original Coney Island. These dogs will not disappoint!

Feeling like getting lost in the words of beautiful writers on a Sunday afternoon, the Detroit Public Library is your spot! This space is incredibly gorgeous in every way, it will not be hard to find a comfy spot to sit and rest after the long weekend.
