We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Chimaobi and I matched on Tinder in December of 2017. Chatting on the app led to texting, and texting led to talking on FaceTime for hours and hours! After nearly four months of getting to know each other, we decided to meet in person for a date in Moorhead. We had ice cream before dinner, drove around listening to music, and filled up on rolls at Texas Roadhouse. It was clearly a very successful first date because the next day, Chimaobi asked me to be his girlfriend! Through out the almost two years of dating, we learned more and more about each other. I have had the pleasure of learning about the beautiful, rich Nigerian culture and how it has shaped Chimaobi into the thoughtful, witty, and loving man that he is. In February of 2020, Chimaobi and I traveled to Iowa to spend time with my family and celebrate his nephew, Kamole’s, first birthday. After an Iowa State basketball game, I spent some time catching up with a friend from college. Meanwhile, Chimaobi and my parents set up candles and sparkling wine to surprise me when I came back. In the living room of my childhood home, Chimaobi got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I said, “of course!” through happy tears. A few months later, at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic and so much uncertainty in the world, we got married at city hall in Minneapolis! We can’t wait to say our vows again and celebrate with our friends and family in June. We’re honored to have you all in our lives and we deeply appreciate your continued love and support!
