after the party, it's me and you

Alyssa and DJ were "accidentally" set up by a mutual friend in August 2019 (Shout out to Tara Phillips). She casually suggested Alyssa to meet with DJ after thinking they may make a good match, given both were from Scranton area and now living in Philadelphia. After ghosting each other a few times, they finally met in October 2019 at The Dandelion for a beer and a Dark and Stormy. The similarities were uncanny: both were left-handed, both were born in April, and they went to the same high school but never knew each other. Alyssa always thought that DJ felt like home from the start. They revisit The Dandelion every year on October 10th.

After a long day of tailgating the Eagles game (Go Birds), DJ took Alyssa out to McGillin's for a few more drinks and food. Drunk and slightly in love, Alyssa cornered DJ at the bar and said, "What are we?" DJ stuttered out, "Uh, I'm ready if you are." The very next morning, a sober Alyssa broke up with DJ, after some uncertainty. Alyssa and DJ got back together 48 hours later and have been together ever since.

After ruining DJ's first plan to propose, Alyssa woke up on October 15th, 2022 with zero expectations. The only thing out of the ordinary was that DJ woke up bright and early to clean the whole house. DJ suggested a casual day, breakfast and walking around South Street. After breakfast and shopping, DJ faked a stomach ache and forced Alyssa to go home with him so he can "use the home toilet." Once home, DJ told Alyssa to change into the outfit upstairs and meet him back downstairs. After getting dressed up, DJ walked with Alyssa to the Philadelphia Art Museum, reminiscing on the life they built together over the past 3 years. DJ proposed at the top of the steps, with family and a crowd to cheer them on.

With DJ's birthday on April 13th, and Alyssa's on April 18th, the pair wanted to make April a month to always remember by marrying each other on April 20th.
