Jess and Theo met through mutual friends in 2016 at a friend’s Christmas party. Initially, Jess liked Theo’s blonde hair and his abs + the wild way he was but she could tell he had some maturing to do. Theo liked Jess’ eyes and her dance moves + the gentle way she was but she was aloof and had some independence to explore. Over the years, they remained friends. When Jess’ paternal grandmother, Millie, passed away, Theo was the first person she sought support from. They had talked many times about their respective connections with their grandmothers, how Theo coped with losing his grandmother, Dorothy, and their fierce love of family. He was a soft place to rest her grief; the wild boy was also sensitive, unwavering, kind. Eventually, they moved in together and he brought his big dog , Blu, with him. In 2020, Theo and Jess decided to add a puppy to their household; on the drive home from picking up their new pup, Theo proposed to Jess with a beautiful sapphire & diamond ring that once belonged to his grandmother, Dorothy. The family of 5 (one adopted cat, a senior dog + a pandemic puppy) now lives happily in Minneapolis, supported by incredible parents, dear siblings, friggin’ cute nephews & friends all over the world that feel like family.
