The Arboretum is one of Anne's favorite places in the world! Located in East Dallas, it has been the setting for field trips as a child, high school photoshoots with friends, and Thursday night cover band concerts. Tickets are typically $10-16 and are timed entry. Pro tip: Pick up some lunch on your way over and have a picnic on the Martin Rutchik Lawn overlooking White Rock Lake.
The original Neiman Marcus is located just a block or two west from the hotels downtown. The Zodiac Room, a restaurant located in Neiman Marcus, is a great spot for lunch after retail therapy or just browsing.
The Perot Museum is located downtown and is so much fun!
White Rock is an amazing place to go on a walk or a drive! It used to be the only water source for the City of Dallas, and it's pump house next to the dam still functions! Some of the smaller buildings on the east side of the lake were built by German P.O.Ws during WWII.
Well worth your time. The 9/11 exhibit... wow. We suggest allowing two hours. There is a small bistro for snacks and Cafe 43 for a full restaurant (reservations recommended.)
For amazing BBQ - Terry Black's or Pecan Lodge, both downtown in Deep Ellum. For a local burger joint loved by Pro Golfer Scottie Sheffler - Jack's Burger House on Hillcrest Ave. For shopping - Northpark Mall. You haven't seen a mall like this! Gucci, Farragamo... to Anthropologie and Outdoor Voices. Wonderful art throughout. Nothing like it!
