Jake and Jasmine met during their freshman year at Oakland University. They lived just a few doors down from each other in the dorms, but did not run into each other until several months into school. Jacob’s friend Vinny began writing Merry Christmas on neighbors’ whiteboards, however the message would quickly get erased and replaced with Happy Thanksgiving by an unknown perpetrator who was then nicknamed “The Christmas Terrorist”. It was only when the two caught Jasmine in the act of destruction that the friendship kicked off.

Every year Oakland University hosts a formal dance at the famous Meadow Brook Hall. It seemed fitting for the couple to attend the event for Jake’s senior year of college as they had missed out on previous years. As with all formal events there was a scheduled photo shoot proceeding the dance in fancy attire. Using this to his advantage Jake subtly made sure the shoot would take place at Riverbends Park in Sterling Heights where the pair had their first date nearly three years prior. With the Clinton River in the background Jake got down on one knee and spilled the greatest love profession that would make the poets of old jealous.
