Due to the recent events regarding COVID-19, we have made the decision to postpone our wedding for the health and safety of all involved. Our wedding will now take place on Saturday, May 22, 2021. We were eager to start our lives together and married in an intimate ceremony with our immediate family on March 21st, one week prior to our original wedding date. We have reserved the new wedding date for a larger celebration with everyone. We hope that you stay safe and healthy during this time and we cannot wait to celebrate with you all soon!
We met at a tailgate before a TVS vs. Nolan football game. I was in the 8th grade and Andrew was in the 9th grade. My best friend, Meredith Freeman, invited me over to the Nowak's house before the football game where I was briefly introduced to Andrew. In the following weeks, Andrew and I began talking over Facebook messenger (remember when that was popular?) and eventually had our first date, a group date, at Main Event. We dated for exactly one week before I broke up with Andrew saying I didn't think it was ever going to work out. Fast forward four months where Meredith invited me to a Nolan baseball game to watch Andrew play (without him knowing I was coming). After the game, Andrew invited me to go with him to watch his younger brother Adam play baseball the following morning. On that second first date that's when I thought that this could really be something. Eight years later and we're so excited to be getting married!
Andrew and his family invited me to join them for brunch followed by Christmas photos at the Christmas tree in Clearfork. After brunch when we began taking photos, Andrew pointed out a bright blue ornament hidden among the red and silver ornaments within the tree. When I looked at the ornament, I saw the words "Rachel, Marry Me?" written on it. I turned around and Andrew was down on one knee. Through joy-filled tears and absolute shock, I said "Yes!" and we were engaged.
