It all started in 2016 at the Pike County baseball field. Jonathan was a coach, and I was there watching my brother practice while I was home from college for the weekend. We didn't speak then, but just a few days later Jonathan "slid into my DMs" on Twitter (lol), and the rest is pretty much history. We have been inseparable ever since.
For our 6th year anniversary, we planned a weekend trip to our two favorite cities, Knoxville, TN and Louisville, KY. We left out on Friday night and made it into Knoxville just after midnight. It has always been our tradition to drive by Neyland Stadium before we go to the condo, so we made our usual drive by. This time Jonathan said he wanted to stop and take pictures of the stadium at night, and I agreed. It was spring break, so it felt like we were the only two people on campus. We walked down to the stadium and stood right on top of a Tennessee T painted in the middle of the road, snapped a few pictures and then looked at each other and smiled. He said "Well babe, we're at my favorite place and you're my favorite person," as he kneeled down onto one knee pulling out a ring. I was completely and totally shocked and immediately said YES and then burst into happy tears. It had been a long time coming!
