General Travel Information

Des Moines has one main airport, the Des Moines International Airport (DSM). If you’re flying in, please know the city is very car-centric. We recommend renting a car or using rideshares (Uber/Lyft) to get around. Most hotels are roughly a 20-minute drive from the airport, and airport procedures are standard - still allow 30 minutes for check-in and security when planning your departure. A note for our international guests: be sure to obtain any required visa or ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) if required before travelling to Iowa!
