On December 23rd, while Hannah was deep into her shift on the Mother Baby Unit at UVA, Hunter was home at his parents’ house for Christmas. Both of us had been on and off dating apps at this point with little to no success. But on this chilly winter evening, we both struck gold and matched with each other! We were immediately intrigued and attracted to each other’s profiles from the get‑go. Both of us were looking for a Christ centered person who was equally silly, adventurous, and fun to be around. Messaging on Hinge quickly turned into texting, which quickly turned into making plans for our first date and even a phone call before we ever met! Our first date got moved up when Hannah’s flight schedule changed typical for Hannah and she flew home through Richmond, which allowed us to go out on New Year’s Day instead of a week later. Hannah drove to my apartment in Richmond, where we saw each other in person for the first time. From there, we walked to Carytown and had dinner at The Daily. Hunter had a few ideas for places to get ice cream afterward, and out of all the options, we ended up at Hannah’s favorite: Jeni’s! We had a few more dates between Richmond and Charlottesville and eventually started dating on January 21st, 2025 — and the rest is history!
