The first time they met

September 30, 2016

Megan & Luke met at McSwiggens Pub in Hoboken, NJ (aka the classiest place in town). Neither was going to go out that night, but their friends ultimately convinced them to go get a few drinks (l’m sure it took a lot of convincing). They had each been doing their own respective bar crawls when they decided to try out McSwiggs. Their mutual friend ran up to Luke right when they got in the place and hugged him. Megan saw that she was hugging him and thought he was a hottie. She asked who he was and she pushed us together and exclaimed “She thinks you’re hot, you two should talk!” That was all it took. They talked and danced the night away with budlight platniums in their hands.

How they got engaged

August 1, 2019

Megan and Luke were going out for a ”promotion” dinner at Battello (large upgrade from McSwiggs) in the Newport area of Jersey City, NJ. The easiest way to get to the restaurant is to walk along the Newport waterfront. It was one of Megan’s favorite walks due to the amazing view you get of the New York skyline. Megan went to take a picture of the Freedom Tower when Luke got down on one knee. After 10 seconds of being stunned, Megan said YES! Passerbys began clapping and Sarah ran up to Megan and Luke congratulating them. Unbeknowst to Megan, Sarah, a childhood friend of Luke’s who is an amazing wedding photpgrapher, was taking pictures of the proposal as it happened.

When they OFFICIALLY got married

September 19, 2020

As we all know, COVID-19 put a damper on 2020 weddings (and all life events for that matter). It caused us to postpone our reception from 9/19/2020 to 9/24/2021. However, we still decided to get married on our original date! We got married at Keyport Yacht Club in Keyport, NJ on a beautiful day with zero clouds in the sky. We had only our immediate family there with us. Although having to postpone was not ideal, having the smaller ceremony was a blessing in disguise. We were SO happy to have this intimate day with just our families. It was extremely special to us and we will cherish it forever. That being said, we cannot wait to party with everyone in Sept 2021 for our WEDDING SEQUEL!
