Amber and Taylor first met while attending college at Indian Hills Comminity College. The two had never talked or met, but always greeted each other in passing. This may come as a surprise to most, but both Amber and Taylor are on the shy side, so getting them to actually meet and talk to each other was quite the challenge for their mutual friends. The solution? A little liquid courage at a party their friends hosted to get them to talk to each other. Well, needless to say the plan worked! They began chatting and hit it off right away, Taylor even built up the courage to ask her on a date to Applebee's (yes, fancy like). The two would continue to date until Taylor graduated and moved away to college at the University of Iowa. They decided that the time apart would help them grow and if it were meant to be, they'd find their way back to each other.

Amber and Taylor talked and hung out off and on throughout the rest of their college years, always keeping tabs on how the other was doing. Once Taylor graduated college, he moved to Des Moines to be closer to where Amber lived, but little did he know she was just starting her traveling nursing career. They continued to keep tabs and live their lives apart and in different states until one day Amber reached out saying her travel assignment was over and she was coming back to Iowa. The two went out of town to a Timberwolves game to catch up when she got back, and well, the rest is history. The time apart eventually brought them back together and they couldn't have been happier.

For the past few years, Amber and Taylor go on a trip with a group of their close friends. This last year, their trip was a week in Lake Tahoe. If you don't know Amber and Taylor, they absolutely love the outdoors, mountains especially. This gave Taylor a bright idea: propose at the top of a mountain! Taylor did his homework, making sure the ring he got was the perfect one by having Amber's friends "all go look at rings together". While in Lake Tahoe, Taylor again did his homework, finding the perfect hike with the perfect view of the lake (thankfully all the friends were in on it). They hiked 2 miles, basically straight up the side of a mountain and is everyone huffing and puffing, meanwhile Taylor is saying this is the best hike he as ever been on (wonder why?). Eventually they make it to the top of the mountain, and the view is absolutely breathtaking. An unobstructed view of Lake Tahoe with a crystal clear blue sky. Taylor looks at Amber and tells her that with this view, this is the best hike he has ever done. Amber calls him crazy, as usual. While the group of friends go to check something else out (because Taylor told them to), Taylor pulls out the ring from his pocket, drops to a knee and gives Amber the surprise of a life time.
