Ally's Love Story

Cherry blossoms + six packs

Our love story began in the Land of the Rising Sun, where cherry blossoms bloom and empires stand tall. I first met Andrew on my 23rd birthday after graduating from Sergeant’s Course in the Marine Corps. Little did I know, our paths crossing marked the start of a remarkable journey that would carry us through a lifetime of shared adventures and cherished moments. We were part of the same friend group, where Andrew was the guy who would light up the room with his quick wit and infectious humor. One evening, we all went to a nightclub called Shangri-la. The night ended with Andrew dropping it low on the dance floor and ripping his shirt open, revealing a perfectly chiseled six-pack. “Wait, Neumann’s hot??” I thought, my heart skipping a beat. And the rest was history. Since then, we’ve explored the beauty of the world, conquered mountains, and embraced life’s wonders. Our days are filled with simple pleasures, like cozy Sunday cuddles and stargazing on our back porch. And so, our tale continues to unfold, a love story filled with adventures waiting to be written. — Ally

Andrew's Love Story

Love, lies, and Vietnam

When I met Ally, I knew she’d be next to me forever. Her sense of adventure and the way she never cared about what others thought was magnetic and beautiful. We met in Japan but the place we truly fell in love was Vietnam. At the time, the unit I was attached to was not allowed to take trips outside of Japan besides a few minor exceptions. However, Ally wanted to go on an adventure and that little country at the eastern edge of Southeast Asia was the place to do it. So, I lied to my command, told them I was going back to America to see my family, and (at risk of court martial) went to Vietnam with Ally. To this day, I don’t regret it. I’d do it all again. A few months later, I was staying at Ally’s room nearly every night on a different base. I would leave right after work, take an hour bus ride, and go stay the night on Camp Courtney. Then, I’d take the bus an hour back in the morning and make it to work just in time. This process continued for several weeks until a random training session occurred one fateful morning without warning. I was late, proven to be off base, and was stripped of my rank in a flash. Through the whole process, Ally refused to leave my side. To this day, I don’t regret it. I’d do it all again. Fast forward 5 years, Ally and I picked up our entire lives and moved to a small, quiet town in Northwest Arkansas where we continue to go on crazy adventures and push our limits of comfort. I love Ally even more now than I did 5 years ago and still don’t regret one chapter in our wild story. She’s the love of my life and my partner in crime and I would go through the darkest depths of the universe with her. And I’d do it all again. — Andrew
