We met in english class our freshman year of high school. Our teacher paired us together to write a paper, and we instantly became best buds. Little did I know, he had a crush on me from the start. The remainder of the year we spontaneously met at my locker, which so happened to be right outside his home room, and we engaged in small talk and several awkward side hugs. Believe it or not his contact in my phone was “My Awko Taco Best Friend”. It wasn’t until the following school year that we went on our first date at In N Out and the movies.
We went to Maui for our last spring break of college. Andrew suggested we go check the waves and have a mini picnic. I thought that would be fun! But little did I know that he had a plan. We went down to check the waves and walked down the cliff to sit on some rocks. Right when we sat down, he said "I have a chocolate surprise." So naturally, I was excited. He pulled out a bag and instead of food, it was a bible with my name on it. However, my last name was "Niemann" instead of "Cobb." I was slightly confused as he hadn't proposed yet. Inside on the first page, there was a sweet note. After I finished reading, he had me stand up. As soon as I stood, he got up to one knee and asked if I would marry him. I was in complete shock, since he had flat out lied to me, saying the ring wouldn't be ready in time for Maui. Of course, I said "YES!" We hugged, jumped, and kissed, and afterwards we rejoiced with some mai tai's in hand!
