In the late 19th Century, Wilson Bentley became the first person to take photographs of snowflakes by using a camera, microscope and black velvet cloth. In his lifetime, he captured over 5,000 images of snow crystals and discovered that each one was different. We have a photo of one hanging on our bedroom wall... it's beautiful, unique, and one of a kind. Since this is a winter wedding (although it doesn’t feel like it in Maryland) we wanted to incorporate the season somehow since it probably won’t be snowing on our big day.
