Luke & Ash

March 24, 2023 — What began as a celebration of love between two dear friends turned into the unexpected beginning of a love story of our own. That spring weekend, Ashten flew to Jackson, Mississippi, to watch her high school best friend, Cami, marry Tanner, one of Luke’s closest friends and longtime work partners. Neither of us had any idea that the weekend would shift the course of our lives. At the wedding, the air was filled with joy, nerves, and laughter —exactly the kind of magic that can only happen when people gather for something truly special. After dinner, surrounded by the comfort and encouragement of mutual friends, Ashten and Luke found themselves talking. And then talking more. It wasn’t dramatic or overly romantic—it was easy, it was fun, and it felt natural. There was an energy neither of us could quite explain but also couldn’t ignore. The next morning, Ashten boarded a flight back to Phoenix thinking, well, that was fun, and chalked it up to a sweet wedding moment that would fade with time. But the man upstairs had other plans. A few days turned into daily conversations. A few weeks turned into flights, FaceTime dates, and countless little reminders that this wasn’t just a fling. Just one month after that wedding weekend, we officially became a couple. What followed were quick weekend trips between Tennessee and Arizona. With every visit, the connection grew deeper. The distance became more difficult—but it also made the decision easier. Luke took a leap of faith, packed up his life in Tennessee, and moved to the desert to see where this could go. Now, over two years later, it’s hard to imagine that we ever lived separate lives. We’ve built something grounded in honesty, laughter, shared adventure, and mutual support. Every day since that weekend in Jackson has only confirmed what we felt from the start—this was meant to be. What started as a wedding weekend has become our forever.
