It's been a long year of waiting but we cannot wait to celebrate with you all. Check out the 'Schedule' tab for all the November 2021 weekend celebration plans.
Out of an abundance of caution for our loved ones, we made the difficult decision to postpone our wedding celebration to November 27, 2021. We did hold our wedding ceremony on the original date, November 28, 2020, with our immediate families present . We're married! Woohoo!! We look forward to celebrating with you all soon!
While attending DePaul for Grad School Amanda waitressed at a bar/restaurant called Homeslice. She first met Daniel when she waited on him and three of his then roommates (who now, along with their better halves, are also close friends of Amanda’s). We were flirtatious from the start but no contact info was exchanged that first day. As luck would have it, we'd again cross paths the very next night out... it was bar-close at a 4AM bar (great minds think alike). In passing, Daniel’s roommate recognized the waitress Daniel had been crushing on the previous day and pointed her toward Daniel — who, to Amanda’s surprise, greeted her by name. We chatted for a short while, exchanged phone numbers, and went our separate ways. We'd soon find ourselves walking Amanda’s dog 'Daws' along the beach, watching the sunrise, and comparing bucket-list travel plans. Turns out good things do happen after midnight!
Near the top of each of our bucket lists was a trip to New Zealand. Fast forward 3+ years and we're on the other side of the globe in a big ‘ol campervan road tripping and exploring. Halfway into the trip was the most anticipated yet strenuous hike. We packed bags for the day, scarfed down light breakfasts (keyword: light), and agreed to have lunch at the top. After what seemed like an hour Amanda was ready to break into the lunch stash. Daniel, as you might have guessed, wouldn’t give in. We finally reached the top and after a quick look around, hungry Amanda promptly perched herself down to eat that glorious sandwich. Daniel had other plans - asking Amanda to be the subject of his photo, to which she sassily replied: “Really, right now!?” but participated reluctantly. Daniel set the camera on a small tripod, walked to join her for the photo, and got down on one knee. We shared a perfect moment alone up there at the top of the mountain eating lunch and sipping hot chocolate.
