If you order a mixed drink at the bar, you will get the alcohol in a glass and have to pour the soda yourself. Tipping is not required but no one will be offended if you do. Cursing is a part of the language. Don’t be offended by profanity. What’s the craic = what’s up? Fag = cigarette Yoke = thing Spud = potato Chinese food is NOT the same as American Chinese.

Summers in Ireland are not the same as New York - please pack plenty of layers, and a raincoat. It would be common to experience every season in a single day in Ireland.
Our wedding day is going to be a mix of both. If something seems different to you, please just go with the flow. Church will be a little longer for the lighting of the candles. We will have plenty of appetizers at the Reception for the Americans - it is not dinner. The band will not start until after dinner. There is no open bar - the venue could never charge enough $ per person for that. Last call is at 2:30AM, stick around for sing song after if you can stay awake. We cannot wait to celebrate with you all!
We will have some drinks provided, but traditionally Irish weddings are not an open bar (we had a few Irish fail the open bar test at our American ceremony). Please do not be discouraged by this information. As stated, we will have drinks provided. This is a marathon, not a sprint. Please drink responsibly as the party starts at 5PM and last call at the venue is at 2:30AM.
