It all started back in the third grade at St. Bernard Academy. We quickly became and stayed best friends over the years - weaving in and out of each others lives during all of the important milestones. In the fall of 2019 Anna Claire needed a last minute date for a wedding. The problem? It was two weeks away and across the country in Vail, CO. Without much convincing John came to the rescue. It was our first time traveling together and we both left that trip wondering hmm... what if? And the rest is history! Covid ended up being a blessing for us. John was able to relocate from Atlanta back home to Nashville and we quickly knew we would be together forever. John managed to surprise Anna Claire when he proposed at an overlook called Piney Point in Sewanee, TN on March 7, 2020.
Instead of a large wedding, we chose to invest in our first home! After a grueling search and a heartfelt letter to the seller (hey, it works) we found our perfect house in July!
On a beautiful late fall afternoon, we exchanged vows infront of our immediate families and our oldest childhood friend. We chose Camp Marymount for our ceremony. Having spent many summers there made it a special place for both of us. We were thrilled to have Monsignor Mike Johnson as our officiant.
Our wedding rings were particularly special because they belonged to John's grandparents. John chose his grandfather's band and Anna Claire's engagement ring was his grandmothers.
Being the foodies we are, dinner was almost more important than the ceremony itself. We celebrated at local chef Johnny Haffner's home. Amidst a moody table scape sat a perfectly curated multi-course meal. The toasts were dear and the evening was truly perfect. To see more photos, check the photos section.
We look forward to celebrating our marriage with you this spring! More details to follow.
