FAQs

The Wedding Website of Kaylee Mullen and Dane Solancho
Question

When should I arrive?

Answer

The ceremony begins at 4:30 p.m., so we recommend arriving around 15–20 minutes early to find your seat and settle in comfortably. We can’t wait to see you there!

Question

Is there parking available?

Answer

Some parking is available in the circular driveway in front of the house, with limited additional spots on Smith Road. For those who prefer, there’s also a public parking lot just 0.5 miles away on Red Arrow Highway. We recommend carpooling when possible.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Due to the size of our venue, we’re only able to accommodate those addressed on your save-the-date. We appreciate your understanding and can't wait to celebrate with you!

Question

What is the attire?

Answer

Our celebration is a blend of semi-formal and dressy casual, with a theme inspired by wildflowers. We’d love for you to bring in colors, though nothing too bright—think soft, garden-inspired tones! Please see the “Theme” section of our website for more information on a suggested color scheme. Since we’re celebrating in a Michigan backyard in June, please consider the weather and dress comfortably for an outdoor setting.

Question

Will the ceremony and reception be held outdoors?

Answer

Yes! Both the ceremony and reception will be outdoors in beautiful Southwest Michigan this June. While it may be warm, we’ll have plenty of refreshing drinks and shaded areas during dinner, thanks to sailcloth canopies that will keep everyone out of direct sunlight. The air-conditioned house will also be open if anyone needs a cool-down. We can’t wait to celebrate with you in this lovely summer setting!

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

In mid-June, Southwest Michigan typically enjoys mild to warm weather, ideal for an outdoor wedding. You can expect daytime highs around 71–74°F (21–23°C), with evening temperatures cooling to about 59–60°F (15–16°C). While it’s usually comfortable, June can bring some rain, as showers are fairly common this month. We suggest keeping an eye on the forecast as the date gets closer, just in case. Southwest Michigan also has moderate humidity and gentle breezes this time of year, so please keep this in mind. We look forward to celebrating with you in this beautiful summer setting!

Question

Will bugs/insects be an issue?

Answer

Being outdoors in the summer, there might be some bugs, so feel free to bring insect repellent and we’ll have some on hand to keep everyone comfortable.

Question

What should I do if I have dietary restrictions?

Answer

If you have dietary restrictions, please let us know when you RSVP for the reception, and we’ll be happy to accommodate! This way, we can ensure there are delicious options available just for you.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes and no! We’ll have two signature cocktails, one signature mocktail, and a selection of standard mixers and alcohol. While the options will be somewhat limited, there will be a variety to enjoy, including wine, beer, and a few types of hard liquor. Cheers to celebrating together!

Question

Are there accommodations nearby?

Answer

Yes, there are plenty of hotels within 15 miles of the venue! You’ll find some recommendations in the "Travel" section of our website. Kindly check back after January 1, 2025 for information on the best deals and details on joining the hotel block if you're interested.

Question

What time does the event end?

Answer

While there’s no strict end time, the festivities will likely wrap up around 10:00 p.m. We’re looking forward to a wonderful evening celebrating together!

Question

What is there to do in the area?

Answer

If you’re spending the weekend, Southwest Michigan has lovely wineries, beautiful Lake Michigan beaches, and charming local shops and restaurants. Check our ‘Things to Do in MI’ section for recommendations (will be available on our site soon)!
