From High School Sweethearts to the Altar

Our journey from high school sweethearts to the altar is a testament to our dedication. We've celebrated milestones, chased dreams, and built a future filled with endless love. As we say "I do," we carry with us the memories of our youth and the promise of a lifetime together, and we cannot wait to share these memories with you.

How We Met

First comes middle school, then comes marriage

We first became friends in middle school when we wound up on the same gym class badminton team. Naturally, Kaitlyn had nothing to do with our team making it to the championship, but we had fun on the sidelines cracking jokes. Then, Ryan went to private school for the first year of high school, but we never lost touch and made sure to go on Ritas walks with our friends and make it to the Pequannock Ho Down. When Ryan decided he wasn't a private school type of guy, he walked into sophomore year geometry class on the first day and Kaitlyn literally stood up and exclaimed "Ryan Mulhall?!". It took another year of silently liking each other and hanging out in group settings before Ryan finally asked Kaitlyn on their first date to the movies (a rated R movie we had to sneak into), where Ryan's dad dropped us off and Kaitlyn's mom drove us home. The rest, naturally, is history.

The Proposal

Kaitlyn didn't even have time to open her eyes before Ryan woke her up and said "do you want to go on a date today?". This wasn't too unusual of Ryan to ask, so we spent our day hanging out and getting ready for dinner reservations that Ryan made at our favorite restaurant Corto. Ryan helped Kaitlyn try to pick an outfit for what felt like hours and even calmly talked her out of the "I have nothing to wear I don't want to go anymore" outbursts. Dinner was great and when it was time to pay the check, Ryan suggested walking through our favorite park that we used to live by, despite Kaitlyn suggesting we just drive since we had the car with us. When we got to the park, the sun was setting beautifully over the expansive view of the NYC skyline. Ryan got down on one knee and a photographer appeared to capture the whole thing. After Kaitlyn said yes times a million, Ryan had both of our families waiting at our apartment for a surprise engagement party. He even planned for the families to head home and all of our friends to come over for a celebratory night out. The entire day was a dream come true.
