Kamyar and Fareshteh met on Bumble in October 2022. The next week, they officially met for their first date at Vito's Ristorante and Mary Eddy's in Oklahoma City. Kamyar quickly won Fareshteh over during the best first date dinner conversation a soon-to-be couple could have—setting the tone for all that followed. In 2025, Kamyar spent months planning a surprise trip to Europe with the intention of proposing. The only clue he gave Fareshteh was to pack for cold weather—specifically, arctic conditions. In November, the couple traveled to the first of five cities: Budapest, where they explored magical Christmas markets and admired the city’s stunning architecture. Their second stop was Vienna, a city especially meaningful to Kamyar because he lived there during a formative part of his childhood. There, in front of the Belvedere Palace, Kamyar proposed, beginning a new chapter of their story in a place already close to his heart. The celebrations continued throughout Austria with visits to Salzburg and picture-perfect ski town Bad Gastein (where the arctic gear Fareshteh thought might be for ice fishing became necessary), before ending in Athens, Greece. Fareshteh and Kamyar have cherished this season of engagement and cannot wait to welcome you to a place that has become incredibly special to them.
