Almost 9 years ago, a Florida State University house party brought us together. At a Halloween party, Joey was dressed like a golfer (shocker!) and Alyssa was dressed like a Greek goddess. Standing around a campfire, Joey introduced himself to Alyssa and taught her all the ways you can hit a beer can with a golf club. Standing around the fire, talking late into the night, Alyssa and Joey would have never imagined how that one encounter would change their lives.

What Alyssa thought was just another ordinary Saturday turned out to be one of the most extraordinary Saturdays of 2021. Alyssa got ready for a luncheon and packed an overnight bag for a hotel stay with "friends" in Miami Beach without suspicion. As Joey drove them to Miami Beach, Joey had their friends and family hard at work to set up the perfect proposal at South Pointe Park. Then, with time to spare, Joey suggested they go for a walk to explore and look out towards the water. As he was distracting her, the photographer was in a position to capture the moment, and the best man was quickly running away without drawing attention as he finalized their proposal picnic. Alyssa was looking out at the water as Joey got down on one knee to propose to Alyssa. "Alyssa, I love you, to the moon and back, and back again, and beyond. Forever. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?" The answer was the easiest yes Alyssa had ever answered in her life.
