We're getting married!

Nick first met Kayla in August of 2013 at Saint Peter's University in Jersey City. Kayla was an incoming freshman about to take her placement exams and Nick was an Orientation Leader who was using every excuse possible to talk to her and make friends. Kayla, on the other hand, was off-put by Nick's khaki cargo shorts and overly-welcoming personality. Months would pass before Nick and Kayla would start talking and on October 14, 2013, the happy couple came to be! And now, nine years later, Kayla and Nick have finally taken the next step to celebrate their love alongside family and friends. Over the past nine years, the couple has gone through the highs and low, but have always done so together; supporting one another through car troubles, tiny one-bedroom apartments, emergency room visits, and much, much more. On the cusp of an entire decade together, Nick and Kayla welcome you to join them in celebrating their love and their future together on September 17, 2023!

Disney is the happiest place on Earth. Not to sound cliche, but the engagement was a truly magical experience. If you know Kayla and Nick, then you know they love Disney and have been there together once before. In October 2021 they headed to Walt Disney World on a quick planned trip to enjoy a week off together. The soon to be groom would encounter the first of many hiccups along the way, the first being hiding the ring in luggage and getting through airport luggage check. Kayla would not know until after, that the plane ride from Newark to Florida was one filled with anxiety, as making sure the ring made it. Success! It did! The morning of October 18 was a warm, fall Florida day. The couple woke up early to get to the park as it opened. Obstacle number 2: finding a photographer. Nick found a Disney castmember who was taking photos outside of the iconic castle and passed her a paper that said "This is a proposal. Are you ready?" With the color drained out of her face and eyes wide, she directed Kayla to turn towards the castle and do a spin on the count of 3- a true instagram pose. ONE... TWO.. THREE! Kayla turns around and sees Nick kneeled on the ground and initially thought he had accidentally fallen down. She then realized that this was a proposal. With many people around them cheering, smiling and clapping, Kayla said yes (obviously) as tears flooded her eyes. The castmember continued to photograph these happy moments. Now Nick had planned the proposal at the begining of the trip with good thinking, because they were given "engaged!" pins, and got spoiled by the Disney team. Disney truly is where the magic happens!
