While they both grew up in the River Region, Joseph, in Montgomery, and Erin, in Prattville, their paths had somehow never crossed until the fateful night of Tuesday, October 19, 2020. It was this night when Joseph finally worked up the courage not only to swipe right to Erin’s profile on a dating website, but also to message her later that night. Luckily for Joseph, while Erin usually did not respond to guys who sent late-night messages, she could tell that there was something different about this message, as it was very sweet and thoughtful, and unlike any message she had ever received, as Joe wanted to get to know her and complimented her. Erin decided to respond the next morning. For nearly five days, they spent hours sending messages back and forth before they finally met for the first time over dinner on October 25 at Jim n’ Nicks in Montgomery, where they talked until closing and talked even more late into the night while watching a movie. While they had just met, there was something each saw in the other that prompted them to want to see each other not once, but twice, the following weekend. It was during this weekend, on October 30, while at Grandma and Pawpaw’s house, that Joseph asked Erin to be his girlfriend.

Fast forward several months to January 30, 2021. Erin had originally planned a “Girl Day” for that Saturday during which she was going to pamper herself before going to dinner with Joe at Kimberlia’s in downtown Prattville at 5:30, but Joseph told her that morning that they needed to be downtown by 4:00. Obviously, Erin knew something was up! With that said, when the time came, they headed to Prattville, where a photographer already waited, to Erin’s surprise. Once in Prattville, Joseph took Erin to a place she had mentioned earlier that would be the perfect spot for a proposal, the Pratt Village Garden. Luckily, everything went according to plan as a surprised Erin said, “Yes!” The rest is history! Joe and Erin are excited to celebrate this next chapter in their lives with you.
