The proposal.

How did we meet?

2017

Jurnee was in search of her first apartment in 2017. After extensive searching, she finally settled on an apartment community. Upon entering for her tour, she was in awe of the man who would be showing her the apartment. She thought surely he was married already, and never tried her luck. After a while, Jurnee moved out of that apartment and was working as a cashier at a store only a few minutes from Isaac’s apartment community. Isaac would stop in on his lunches and buy P3 Protein Packs just to see her. He’d go through her checkout line, both would blush, and both would be too shy to say anything. After a few months, Jurnee found herself at a new job and didn’t see Isaac again for quite some time. Until, one day, she decided to try Tinder, against her better judgement. After a mere couple of swipes, she stumbled across such a familiarly handsome face and without hesitation she swiped to “like” Isaac’s profile while thinking to herself, “There is no way we match.” “You’re a match!” Pops up onto the screen and she actually squeals a little. They began to chat, exchanged snapchats, but it seemed both were still too shy to ‘shoot their shot’. Finally, after Jurnee messaged him to ask if he was still at that apartment community from the beginning of this story, sparks fly and there was no denying the chemistry. Isaac asks Jurnee out for dinner, and the rest is history. Bonus fact: Jurnee missed the exit heading to Isaac’s house for dinner and called him to let him know (as well as ask which exit to take instead). Isaac admits he thought he was going to be stood up!

How did he pop the question?

July 6th, 2024

The family was gathered to celebrate the Fourth of July. Jurnee was asked by Isaac’s mom, Erin, to help put away dinner, which we later found out was part of the plan. After helping, Oliver greeted us at the door saying, “Go see my dad! Go see my dad! He’s over there! Go!” I’ll admit, I was a little suspicious as I walked towards the river. Until, I saw him. The sun was just setting, giving Isaac an almost angelic glow as he stood in the clearing with Oaklee in his arms. He set Oaklee down and he ran to me with the ring box! Isaac got down on one knee, ring already in hand, and spoke beautiful words of love, friendship, and time. There wasn’t a beat missed between when he was finished talking and when I said “yes!” It was a fairytale come true. Fun fact: Isaac had a speech written that he forgot due to the nerves!
