It all started thanks to a golf round at Oak Ridge… though if you ask us, Steph’s best friend Kallie may deserve a little credit too. She had subtly encouraged her husband Mike to keep an eye out for any cute, single guys worthy of setting Steph up with - and apparently, he understood the assignment. While golfing with Dillon (better known as “Peaches”), Mike decided he had found a strong candidate. Walking off the 6th tee box, he planted the seed with Dillon: “Would you ever go out with my wife’s best friend?” Before Dillon could even answer, one of the guys chimed in with, “Who, Steph?! Yeah, you should - she’s a catch (with a smirk).” Not long after, Mike sent Steph his official pitch (along with a photo): “My boy here in the blue hat is Dillon Pieri - he’s been golfing with me at Oak Ridge and he is single... I said I would put in a good word with you and see if you want to go out! He played college hockey, works at General Mills in finance, but is not a dork like some of them can be!” A few days later, Dillon reached out to Steph and set up our first date at a restaurant on the lake in Wayzata… naturally, after Dillon finished a long golf round. From there, the rest was history. We spent more and more time together, quickly realized how much fun we had together, and somewhere along the way, knew this was something pretty special :-)
