Iheomimi (Mims) and Maame Esi (Spring) met at a panel talk for creatives while going after their respective careers. They believe they have only God to thank for orchestrating their union. Mims was attending to meet a videographer about developing a short film for his clothing brand and Spring was on the lookout for connections to add to her network for her film project developments. According to Mims, he saw her standing accross the courtyard and felt drawn to start a conversation about her outfit. He mentions that the colours she was wearing spoke to him. In Spring’s version of the story, she wondered who this guy was that came to speak to her. After a playful conversation, they exchanged contacts and agreed to keep in touch. They exchanged messages, bumped into one another at other events but Spring was set to return home to the north of Ghana and Mims was shuttling between London and Accra. Fast forward a year later and they had not yet had a real date. So Spring acosted Mims, asking if they were ever going to have the tennis match he had promised. Recognising that Spring was probably getting tired of his inconsitency, Mims got serious and took her out for her birthday. From there, it’s fair to say that they’ve been attached at the hip. While Mims grew up in Lagos with mixed roots from the Ibo, Yoruba and Kwahu tribes, Spring grew through her early years moving between several regions of Ghana with Fante and Gonja parents. It’s a rather unexpected clash of cultures, but makes for the most beautiful mix of West African heritage. Won’t God do it. Three years after their first sighting of eachother, they now prepare to seal their union in front of their closest friends, family and their Heavenly Father. Those around them can attest to the wonderful strength they’ve developed in their time together and are excited for what is to come. As it turns out, neither of them can play tennis really well. They’ve agreed to pick up padel instead and develop their skills together promising to remain friends for life to the end of time!
