FAQs

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

No, we have chosen to have an 18+ wedding. We thank you in advance for your understanding.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We encourage garden cocktail attire. But please, wear what you feel most comfortable in. Please keep in mind August in Alberta means warm days and cool nights. Layers are encouraged if you plan to stay after sunset (8:45pm).

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

Camp with us! We have plenty of space to camp at the venue! If camping is not something you'd like to partake in, we have a hotel block at the Pomeroy Inn and Suites, Olds.

Question

Camping Specific FAQs

Answer

Is there a bathroom? Yes! The site has a designated bathroom for the campers (including a shower). I don't have my own gear/don't want to travel with all that stuff. What should I do? We have some local friends offering their extra gear! Please reach out and we will do our best to get you comfortably camping under the stars with us. Can I bring my RV? Yes! We have dry RV spots! Do I have to pay or reserve my spot? Camping is free for you, but you do to reach out and sign a waiver for liability purposes!

Question

How should I plan to get to the venue?

Answer

We will be running a shuttle from the hotel to the venue before the ceremony, as well as shuttles back to the hotel at periodically throughout the night. There is plenty of parking at the venue if you still prefer to drive.

Question

There's no address for your venue?

Answer

Please just enter "Cork and Crate Estates" into your GPS, I promise it will take you to the correct place. For those who may not be familiar with the area, Olds is rural, enough so they do not have an address.

Question

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will be outdoors and dinner will be indoors. As for the reception, dancing will be taking place inside, but the venue has multiple additional spaces to gather outside.

Question

I'm coming in from out of town, what should I do in Olds?

Answer

Go to Calgary. There isn't much to do in the town itself. Feel free to explore, there is a brewery and botanical garden associated with the Olds College of Agriculture, but if you google "what to do near Olds", Calgary is one of the top suggestions. You're best off staying in the city and exploring the museums and parks there. If you are trying to make a larger vacation out of this journey, Banff National Park is only 2 hours away from our venue, 1 hour from Calgary.
