We met in Mrs. Cooper’s physics class in 2016 during our junior year of high school. We had a few mutual friends and ended up forming a little friend group that was inseparable! Family and friends would always make comments that we should date, and Joseph’s mom even used to say she wished Megan were already her daughter-in-law. We always laughed it off, we were “just friends”! Even after graduating high school, we continued to spend all our time together. That next summer, we vacationed with each others families! Joseph came along to Pensacola Beach, Florida with Megan’s family and spent a week on the beach. It was during this trip that Megan suddenly got very worried about the feelings she was having for her best friend! A few short weeks later, Joseph’s family brought Megan along to Las Vegas for a family reunion, where she got to meet his whole family! Megan later found out that Joseph spent a lot of this trip doing the same thing she did in Florida, freaking out about suddenly realizing “I like my best friend???”. When we returned home, we became even more inseparable. Joseph would come over to Megan's house nearly every night, and we would spend our time watching movies and TV shows together. Then everything changed. One night while sitting in Megan’s game room watching season 3 of Stranger Things, during a very intense scene where we just knew a character was about to die, Joseph whispered Megan’s name. She looked over at him, slightly annoyed that he was interrupting a death scene, and he leaned in and tried to kiss her! She panicked and leaned away, and convinced herself he was totally NOT trying to kiss her, just trying to be funny (how naïve can a girl be?). Just a month or so after this, Joseph finally decided that he couldn't keep wondering. He told Megan “I like you, and I just need to know if you like me too!” After a few days of talking through our feelings from the last few months, Joseph finally asked her on a date! Our first date was October 31, 2019 at Dark Hour Haunted House, which was a huge deal because Joseph hated all things scary! After the haunt, he took Megan to In-n-Out Burger and drove around talking for hours. A few days later, on November 3rd, 2019 he asked Megan to be his girlfriend while sitting in his white Infiniti parked in front of her house, and the rest is history! Now, 4 days after our 7 year anniversary, on November 7th, 2026 (can you tell 7 is our lucky number?), we get to say “I Do” in front of the most important people in our lives.
