Alyssa and Mason both grew up in Verona. Alyssa was a freshman in high school when Mason was a senior. They didn’t cross paths much, except for the occasional passing in the hallway. Alyssa thought Mason was a football stud, and although he doesn’t like to admit it, he knew who that little freshman brace-face was. It wasn’t until 2012, Alyssa’s freshman year of college, when the two crossed paths again. Alyssa was home visiting from Milwaukee and was out with some friends. She happened to end up at an A-bar (after-bar) at Mason’s house. Mason wasn’t home but called his roommate Bart, who told him “little Dreher” was there. Mason rushed home to join the festivities but the two didn’t talk much. The next weekend, Alyssa joined her brother Derek out in Downtown Madison. It just so happened that Derek was hanging with Mason and his buddies that night and we all ended up at Monday’s bar together. Mason proceeded to buy Alyssa one of the stiffest drinks she’d ever had and then proceeded to turn around and knock over the glass, spilling it all over the bar. If you know Monday’s, you know Alyssa wasn’t mad that he had spilled it. They exchanged numbers that night, and maybe a kiss, and that’s where the love story really begins.

Mason proposed to Alyssa at her grandparent’s cabin on Castle Rock Lake in October of 2022. Alyssa thought she was hosting a friends weekend to celebrate her and her best friend Tori’s 29th birthdays. Little did she know everyone was in on a secret. The girls were hanging out in the cabin opening birthday gifts when Alyssa turned around to see Mason holding a blindfold and said “I have one more gift for you, come with me.” He led her down the beach and to the water where light-up letters spelled out “Marry Me” that glowed behind Mason as he was down on one knee. All of Alyssa’s closest friends helped coordinate decorations, desserts and champagne to celebrate all weekend long. Alyssa’s parents even surprised her that night to join the celebration. It was truly the most perfect weekend ever.

We can't wait to celebrate our love with all of our favorite people in August. You all hold a special place in our lives and we wouldn't want to celebrate with anyone else. We'll see you on the dance floor! Love, Mason & Alyssa
