Our Story

If you told us back in 2014 that we’d be here today, we probably wouldn’t have believed you. Our story isn't a whirlwind romance; it’s a slow burn that’s been ten years in the making. 2014: The Friend Zone We first met in July 2014 at Mike’s birthday party at Cabana in Toronto (if you know, you know). For years, we were part of the same friend group—the kind of friends who saw each other at parties, went on group trips and kept in touch through mutual friends and events. We eventually lost touch when life took us in different directions but were always in each other’s orbits, the timing just wasn’t right. 2022: The Turning Point In March 2022, an unexpected but welcomed text led to a “let’s see what happens” meetup at a music festival in Miami (if you know, you know). Somewhere between the music and the sunshine, something shifted and we knew we were trading the "friend" label for something much more meaningful. 2023-2025: Miles, Memories, and Mountains For the next few years, we became experts at navigating long-distance life. From Toronto to Miami and everywhere in between—Portugal, Spain, France, and an unforgettable trek through Japan—we packed up our relationship (and our poodle, Leo) and lived out of suitcases and airport terminals. While the travel was an adventure, the “real life” moments truly grounded us. Navigating life’s ups and downs together made us realize that home wasn't a specific city; it’s wherever the other person was. 2026: The Big Leap On Valentine’s Day 2026, on a sunset walk with Leo, Mike popped the question! After years of friendship and long-distance, we are so incredibly happy to finally be together in Florida. We’ve traded boarding passes for a permanent home, and we couldn't be more excited to start this next chapter with all of you.
