First Day

November 14, 2012

Since my freshman year of college at Roger Williams University I was certain that I was going to meet my husband. I knew he was at this school, I just didn’t know who he was or when I’d meet him. It wasn’t until sophmore year when a group of transfer students moved on the floor directly below me. Of course as any girl college student would, I was excited to get to know this new group of guys. The moment I met Brendan I felt there was something special about him. He has a heart of gold, he’s whitty, and very bright. Oh best part of all, he laughs at my jokes. Two months later, what felt like an eternity, I had the man I dreamt about my whole life. It all began over a turkey sandwich picnic (which he planned) at Colt State Park. From that point on I worried wondering if whether he felt a future with me or would this be the hardest breakup of my life. Good news that day arrived...

Yes Day

October 24, 2019

Our annual trip north to see the foliage felt no different than the last. Don’t get me wrong, I was a little skeptical that this trip could be it. To be certain I asked my dad, he said he better not without asking me first. Little did I know he could keep a secret. I asked my sister if I should get my nails done, she assured me not. Little did I know she helped Brendan pick out the ring several months earlier. I also knew our college friend Haley who was adamant that she would be there to photograph was not around, or so I thought. Lastly, I was certain it wasn’t happening when Brendan dropped to one knee on the driveway as we packed the truck. He looked at me with a smile and proceeded to tie his shoe. I thought to myself he wouldn’t joke if he planned on proposing soon. So I relaxed and enjoyed our time together listening to country music, eating pumpkin donuts, taking in the spectacular views with the windows down and the heat on our feet. These moments with Brendan by my side are what I love most of all. We stayed in a cute tiny home right outside of North Conway and ventured off to the Kancamagus scenic byway. As we reached the Lower Falls we walked out onto the rocks surrounded by breathtaking sounds of the mountain river flowing water. We took a selfie to remember this moment and before I knew it he was down on one knee (for real this time!) asking me to marry him. In shock, I responded “of course!” With my eyes focused on him I forgot to look down at the ring. When I finally did he shared with me the band is his grandmother’s engagement band. It made it that more special! As I was hugging him and was not letting go, Brendan told me to look off into the distance. To my surprise, I learned we weren’t alone. There was Haley, behind a tree! Right then I knew she had just captured our moment, the one we would treasure for the rest of our lives.

Best Day

Now, we take it back to where it all began, Bristol, RI. Our reception will be held at the Cove Cabin on Mount Hope Farm. The view of Mount Hope Bridge is a special memory of our college days together at Roger Williams University. We are honored to have you join us on our first day as husband and wife and look forward to celebrating with all of you!
