we’re getting married!

AJ and I first met while we were both studying abroad in Florence, Italy during our sophomore years of college in the spring of 2018 (AJ went to Clemson, and I attended UNC-Chapel Hill). Much to our delight, we ended up being in a project group together in our Principles of Marketing class. The other group members for our project never showed up to our group meetings, leaving AJ and I time to get to know each other over coffee and gelato at our favorite café, La Menagere. We became friends instantly, and were definitely crushing on each other harder than either of us was willing to admit at the time. I had major tunnel vision for him, and from what I've heard, he had the same for me :) We continued to stay in touch after leaving Italy, and ended up dating long distance starting in the fall of 2018. I drove to Clemson on many weekends for football games (go Tigers!) and fraternity functions, while AJ would come to Chapel Hill to cheer on the Tar Heels in the Dean Dome and eat burgers at Al's on Franklin Street. Soon after we started dating, we both knew the other was our person for life. Fast-forward to this year, and now we both live in Charleston, South Carolina, where I am working in digital marketing and AJ will be starting medical school in August. AJ proposed on October 2nd, 2020 at my family's house at Holden Beach during an amazing sunset walk on the beach. I blurted out "YES!" before he could even ask the actual "Will you marry me?" question. We then were showered with so much love by friends and family at an after-party, and I will never forget it. We are so unbelievably excited to start this next chapter of our lives together. We truly wouldn't be here without the support of each one of you, and hope we get to celebrate with you in-person in April!
