Our story began in December 2024 at Jersey Shore Medical Center. Alexis was working as a Laboratory Technologist day shift when Brendan joined the department on the evening shift. Neither of us could have imagined that a simple workplace introduction would lead us here. A few weeks later, a group of coworkers got together to celebrate the holiday season. Between the music, dancing, and laughter, we spent the evening getting to know one another. By the end of the night, Alexis decided to give Brendan her phone number—but in a moment she can only blame on the festivities, she accidentally gave him the wrong one! Thankfully, fate had other plans, and we eventually found our way to each other. Not long after, on New Year's Day 2025, we officially began dating. From the very beginning, everything felt easy and natural. Our relationship moved quickly, but every step felt right. One of our first milestones was introducing our cats—Levi, Toddy, and Shadow. Luckily, they became friends just as quickly as we did. By August 2025, we had moved in together and started building a home filled with love, laughter, and plenty of cat supervision. The following month, we embarked on our first international adventure together, traveling through Paris, Sicily, and Rome. On September 18, 2025, as the sun rose over the Trevi Fountain and the city was just beginning to wake, Brendan got down on one knee and asked Alexis to spend forever with him. Moments earlier, we had shared a drink from the Fontanella degli Innamorati, or "Lovers' Fountain," beside the Trevi Fountain. According to Roman legend, couples who drink from its waters together will remain devoted to one another and always find their way back to each other. It was the perfect beginning to our next chapter. What started as a chance meeting between coworkers has grown into a life filled with adventure, partnership, and endless love. We are so grateful for every moment that brought us here and can't wait to celebrate this special day with all of you.
