One of the main reasons we fell in love with Altea was the beautiful cobbled streets of the Old Town. We highly recommend exploring them during your stay. Below are some of our favourite bars and restaurants: La Fornera – Amazing fresh ingredients. We went for the bruschetta, carbonara, and pesto pasta. You can sit inside or head to the back of the restaurant, where a large terrace overlooks Altea. Inn Bocca Lupo – Gorgeous interior setting with views of the church dome. We ate the seafood pasta and mushroom risotto, both incredible.
De Lab Felix Nilah (near the marina, with a lovely terrace and an excellent Aperol Spritz)
If you are staying at Cap Negret, both the Old Town and the beachfront are within walking distance. Turn left out of the hotel and walk across the bridge. From here, you can either: Turn left towards the seafront, where you’ll find many bars and restaurants, or Turn right up any of the streets/paths leading to the Old Town and main square. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes, as there are many steps leading up to the Old Town. Alternatively, you can order a taxi at the hotel reception to either the Old Town or the beachfront (approx. 5 minutes).
