COVID Update & Faq's

The Wedding Website of Ryan McFatridge and Sara O'Brien
This pandemic has been difficult for everyone but luckily we're optimistic that the light is at the end of the tunnel for this all to be over. We understand that it's a personal decision, but we strongly encourage you to get your Covid-19 vaccine in order for us to have our wedding with no restrictions (and also to keep yourself and others safe). If not, we hope you'll reconsider coming to our wedding. We will continue to update this page regularly as more questions come in and Covid-19 restrictions are updated by the city. Thanks and stay safe!
Question

Is your wedding still happening?

Answer

We will continue to monitor the state's regulations and adjust accordingly. At this time, we are still planning on having our wedding with little to no restrictions.

Question

Do I need to be vaccinated in order to come?

Answer

No, but it's encouraged! As of May 18, 2021, Chicago has loosened their restrictions and there is no longer a capacity limit between vaccinated and unvaccinated guests. Masks are no longer required for vaccinated or unvaccinated guests at our venue but are still recommended if you haven't yet been fully vaccinated.

Question

How do I prove that I've been vaccinated?

Answer

Proof will no longer be required by the venue to prove that you've been vaccinated.

Question

Do I need to stay in one of your wedding blocks?

Answer

Not at all. We just wanted to provide some different options for friends and family who may be traveling together. If you find a cheaper hotel or want to use points somewhere else, you're more than welcome to do so.

Question

When do I need to arrive to Chicago?

Answer

Our reception is scheduled for Saturday August, 7 so just be sure to be in town by then. Some other events we have scheduled prior to Saturday are invitation only for the wedding party and those folks will be notified ahead of time.

Question

Which Chicago airport should I fly into?

Answer

Up to you! Our wedding venue is pretty centrally located and easy to get to via the CTA trains. O'Hare is easier and faster to get to the city center by the Blue line and Midway is faster to get to and from the city center by Uber/Lyft/taxi.

Question

I'm driving in, where can I park?

Answer

Check with whatever hotel you're staying at to see what their overnight parking policy is. You can also download an app called SpotHero that has cheaper overnight parking than most hotels in public parking lots around you. Our wedding venue also has limited parking available to our guests who will be driving in.

Question

Is it open bar?

Answer

Obviously.
