We kindly request that all our guests be vaccinated against COVID-19 at least two weeks prior to our day. If you can be vaccinated, you must be vaccinated. This is for the health, safety, and wellness of all our guests, but particularly our elders, family, and friends who are particularly susceptible to serious illness. Masks will be recommended but not required.
Yes! We have reserved a room block at the La Jolla Cove Hotel & Suites for guest convenience. To receive the discounted room rate, please directly contact the event manager, Ms. Ann Marie Ramos, at amarie@lajollacove.com or (858) 551-3412 and mention you would like to reserve a room in the McCall-Beutter Wedding block. Please note reservations must be made before Tuesday, July 12, 2022 to benefit from the discounted group rate.
Absolutely! You may book rooms at the La Jolla Cove Hotel anytime; the hotel just cannot guarantee the special group rate after July 12th.
Coastal Formal - dress to slay, but be prepared to play (aka dance the night away). We invite our guests to serve lewks in any way you wish. Any/all culturally-specific formalwear is welcome and celebrated. Please note that we will be outside for the ceremony and reception, and the weather can get cool and breezy after sunset. Dancing shoes = highly recommended.
Pretty much exactly what it sounds like! We kindly encourage our guests to look and feel their best and dress formally but appropriately for the (likely) hot, sunny coastal weather. Examples: long or tea-length dresses or bottoms, linen/lightweight suits, etc. A quick google search of “coastal formal wedding attire” or “beach formal wedding attire” pulls up lots of excellent inspiration. Can’t wait to see you all lookin’ fabulous!
We encourage any guests who wish to wear masks to do so! We see this as a form of love and appreciate you for doing your part to protect our shared community.
Sadly, no, the Cove Hotel does not accommodate pets at this time. (I know, we’re sad about it too.) Our cocker spaniel, Penny, will be present for just the ceremony. If you need a little dog love, you can get your puppy pats in then! Nearby pet-friendly options include numerous Airbnbs and the Holiday Inn Express in Windansea (please see the Travel page on our website for more information.)
Make it a weekend! We are planning to have a post-wedding brunch and potentially some other fun activities around San Diego the days before and after the wedding for those that can make it!
TBD.
We kindly ask any guests who are feeling under the weather to please stay home and rest. We love you and we want to be with you on our big day, but we understand that health imperatives must come first. We will see you another time!

If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes; if not, we would prefer if it was just you.
Daily high temperatures are around 76°F, rarely falling below 70°F or exceeding 84°F. Daily low temperatures are around 67°F, rarely falling below 62°F or exceeding 71°F. We hope to see lots of sunshine but a marine layer is common. A light jacket or shawl should be ample to keep you comfortable after sundown.
We’ll be so sad to miss you, but life happens. Feel free to text John at (650) 814-6876 if you know you can’t make it, or if you need to change your RSVP status.
