Danielle and Joey first met at a party during their college’s homecoming weekend. As Joey said, it was an act of liquid courage that gave him the confidence to approach Danielle. At the party, he saw Danielle taking a picture with her friend and, without introducing himself, asked to take a picture with her. Once Danielle’s friend took the picture, he did not say one word and eventually walked away. Danielle inquired about Joey to her friend but thought she would never see him again. Luckily, they did see each other around but did not officially rekindle until two years later.
Joey planned a Chicago weekend trip with Danielle to watch wrestling, visit friends, and go to the waterfront. He knew anywhere near the water would be a perfect proposal spot, as Danielle loves the beach. On Saturday morning, they met with his friends at a coffee shop and walked to the waterfront together. Once finding an ideal spot, Joey asked Danielle to take a picture with him. He got on one knee, proposed, and of course, Danielle said, “Yes!” Joey’s friend took pictures of their special moment and surprised the couple with champagne. After his friends left, the two sat and enjoyed their view and drank the rest of their champagne. They celebrated the rest of their day by going to brunch, bar hopping, and meeting up with friends!
