How We Fell in Love

Abigail

We met as kids through mutual friends, I was best friends with his best friend's sister. During that time we did not think much of each other, as I was younger than him. Fast forwarding a couple years, my sister and her boyfriend at the time mentioned that we needed "someone cool to hangout with" and I said well... I know a guy! My sister's boyfriend happened to know Cory so he began to hangout with my family and I. At the time, I was so oblivious that he cared for me more than just being my friend until my sister said "so do you realize he's totally in love with you, right?" It had been a year since we initially started hanging out and we were still in the "friend zone." My family and I were going on a vacation to Galveston and we needed another person to go with us. Cory was immediately the first person everyone thought of. At this point, I was worried he would get the wrong idea that we were dating. I was scared of dating Cory, not only because I was young, but also because I always had this gut feeling about him that if we were to start our relationship he would be my husband and at 16 that was terrifying! We still reminisce on our Galveston vacation to this day, it is where we fell in love and formed a relationship deeper and more special than we ever knew was possible. Now, eight years later, here we are with more appreciation for each other each day and we finally get to say "I do" to a lifetime of friendship and love. Looking back, at sixteen, Cory is by far the best decision I made. Cory, I cannot wait to have a long full life with you filled with happiness and laughter, you are my best friend and I love you dearly.

How We Fell in Love

Cory

The day I met Abigail I never would of guessed that the love of my life sitting on the couch across from me. I was going into my sophomore year of high school and Abbey was going into 8th grade. We spent time together throughout the years with our mutual friends. I always thought Abbey was very down to earth and easy to talk to/be around. We became closer as we spent time together through our high school years and we thought of each other as good friends. I remember always looking out for Abbey at high school parties that she probably should not have been at. A few years later, I was back from college and working full time at Advance Turning. Abbey and I had stayed in contact with one another. One day, I remember that she invited me to hangout with her sister and boyfriend at their house. We all hit it off immediately and as our hangouts became more frequent I grew closer with her family. She became one of my closest friends. I began to picture us together as a couple because of our compatibility, I thought our personalities complimented each other well. Spending time together and conversations were effortless, not to mention she is stunningly beautiful. Abbey was always hesitant to be in a relationship because of our friendship, she was starting college soon, and to quote her "I feel like you are going to be my husband and I'm to young for that right now." The Sharp's invited me on a family vacation to Galveston, Texas. This trip is where I feel like I truly fell in love with Abigail. That trip was special and the beginning of us taking a chance on our relationship and I will never forget it. I remember holding her hand on the plane back home and Abbey said quietly to me "just so you know, this doesn't mean your my boyfriend now." She was as stubborn as mule (as she always is), but we both knew quite well how in love we were without a clue of what the future would hold. The one thing we did know for sure was that we could accomplish anything together and we both had the sense that we would not just be a story of a young couple that didn't workout this type of connection was lifelong. A month after Galveston we made it official and the rest is history. Now 9 years later, we are here still hand in hand continuing our story. We became best friends and will now be husband and wife just as we knew we would so many years ago.
